Black Sheep Dealer
Effective date: September 24, 2026
Last updated: September 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Black Sheep Dealer ("Black Sheep Dealer," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit blacksheepdealer.com (the "Site"), respond to our ads on Facebook, Instagram, or other platforms, submit a form, message us, call or text us, or otherwise interact with us (together, the "Services").

Black Sheep Dealer is operated by Miguel Martinez, an automotive sales professional who helps customers find and arrange new and used vehicle leases and purchases. Black Sheep Dealer is not a lender, bank, or leasing company. Leads and inquiries come directly to Black Sheep Dealer. Vehicle sales and leases are completed through licensed motor vehicle dealers, and financing or leasing is provided by third-party lenders and leasing companies.

By using the Services or submitting your information to us, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services or submit your information.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

We collect information you choose to provide, including when you fill out a lead form (on our Site or on Facebook or Instagram), message us, call or text us, or email us. This may include:

  • Contact details: name, phone number, email address, city, and ZIP code.
  • Vehicle interest: the vehicle, trim, or deal you are interested in, preferred lease or purchase terms, desired monthly payment, down payment or amount due at signing, term, and mileage.
  • Trade-in details: year, make, model, mileage, condition, VIN, and payoff or lender information.
  • Timing and preferences: when you want to buy or lease, the best time to contact you, and how you prefer to be contacted.
  • Credit-related information you volunteer: for example, your estimated credit range. Please do not send your Social Security number, driver's license number, date of birth, bank account numbers, or other sensitive financial information by text, social media message, or our Site forms. If you decide to apply for financing or a lease, the credit application is completed through the dealership or lender, and your information is handled under their privacy notices (see Section 4).
  • Communications: the content of messages, emails, texts, voicemails, and call notes.

Information we receive from social media platforms

If you submit a lead form through a Facebook or Instagram ad ("Instant Form"), Meta Platforms, Inc. sends us the information you submitted, which may be pre-filled from your Meta profile (such as your name, email, and phone number). We also receive basic information when you message our Facebook Page or Instagram account, such as your profile name and photo. Your use of Meta's platforms is governed by Meta's own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site or interact with our ads, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Approximate location: general location (such as city or region) based on your IP address.
  • Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies: small files and code that help the Site work, remember your preferences, measure traffic, and measure how our ads perform. This may include the Meta Pixel and similar tools from Meta, Google, Squarespace, and other advertising and analytics providers (see Section 5).

Information from other sources

We may receive information about you from dealerships, lenders, and leasing companies we work with (for example, whether a deal was completed), from public sources, and from people who refer you to us.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and send you the lease or purchase information you asked for.
  • Contact you by phone, text message, email, or social media message about vehicles, pricing, availability, and offers.
  • Work with dealerships, lenders, and leasing companies to structure, quote, and complete your lease or purchase.
  • Evaluate a trade-in you tell us about.
  • Coordinate vehicle delivery, paperwork, and follow-up.
  • Send you updates about current and future lease and vehicle deals, where permitted by law (you can opt out at any time; see Section 7).
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and the Services.
  • Measure and improve our advertising, including through tools provided by Meta and Google.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and illegal activity.
  • Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our rights.
  • For any other purpose we describe to you when we collect the information, or with your consent.

3. Calls, Text Messages, and Email

If you give us your phone number, you agree that Black Sheep Dealer, and dealerships acting on your inquiry, may contact you at that number by phone call and text message (including messages sent using automated technology) about your inquiry and related vehicle offers. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or lease.

  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help.
  • You can ask us at any time to stop calling you or emailing you, and we will honor that request.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Calls may be recorded or noted for quality and record-keeping purposes where permitted by law. If a call is recorded, we will tell you at the start of the call where required.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below:

  • Dealerships. To help complete your lease or purchase, we share your information with the licensed motor vehicle dealer completing your transaction, which may enter it into their customer management systems and contact you directly.
  • Lenders and leasing companies. If you choose to move forward with financing or a lease, your information will be shared with lenders and leasing companies (for example, manufacturer finance companies, banks, and credit unions) to evaluate and complete the transaction. Credit applications, credit reports, and financing information are governed by the dealership's and lender's privacy notices, including notices provided under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
  • Service providers. We use vendors to run our business, including website hosting (such as Squarespace), form and spreadsheet tools (such as Google), email and text messaging providers, customer relationship management tools, and analytics providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Advertising and social media platforms. We use platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google to run and measure ads. These platforms may receive information such as device identifiers, browsing activity on our Site, and, in some cases, hashed contact information, to deliver and measure ads. Under California law, some of this may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 7 for how to opt out.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if we believe it is required by law, subpoena, or court order; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Black Sheep Dealer, our customers, or others; or to detect and prevent fraud.
  • Business changes. If Black Sheep Dealer is involved in a merger, sale, transfer of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent. We may share information for other purposes with your permission.

5. Cookies, Pixels, and Tracking

We and our partners use cookies, pixels (including the Meta Pixel), and similar technologies to operate the Site, understand how visitors use it, and measure and improve our ads.

  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features of the Site may not work properly if you do.
  • You can control ad preferences on Facebook and Instagram in your Meta account settings, and on Google at adssettings.google.com.
  • You can learn more about interest-based advertising and opt out at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, so the Site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. Where required by law, we will treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser.

6. How We Protect and Keep Your Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet, text messaging, or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information (such as Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, or bank account numbers) through social media messages, text messages, email, or Site forms.

We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to follow up on your inquiry, maintain business records, and comply with legal, accounting, and regulatory requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete or de-identify it.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Marketing opt-out. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time by replying STOP to a text, using the unsubscribe link in an email, or contacting us (see Section 11). We may still contact you about an active transaction you started.

California residents. If you are a California resident, you may have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA), to the extent the law applies to us:

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.
  • Right to access a copy of the specific personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, contact us or use a Global Privacy Control signal.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would give rise to this right.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 11. We will need to verify your identity before responding, which may include matching information you provide with information we already have. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of the agent's authority. We will respond within the time required by law.

Categories of personal information collected in the past 12 months (as defined by the CCPA): identifiers (such as name, phone, email, IP address); customer records information (such as trade-in and vehicle-interest details); commercial information (such as vehicles and deals you were interested in or completed); internet or network activity (such as Site browsing and ad interactions); approximate geolocation; audio or electronic information (such as voicemails and call notes); and inferences drawn from the above (such as vehicle preferences). These are collected from the sources described in Section 1, used for the purposes in Section 2, and disclosed to the categories of recipients in Section 4.

California "Shine the Light." California Civil Code Section 1798.83 allows California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes without your consent. To make a request, contact us as described in Section 11.

Other states. Residents of other states may have similar rights under their state's laws. Contact us and we will respond as required by the law that applies to you.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Third-Party Websites and Platforms

The Site and our ads may link to or appear on websites and platforms we do not control, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, dealership websites, and lender websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law, such as by posting a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
